View Full Version : "Ignore" is the coward's way.

I can see how the "Ignore" feature would be desireable by some, but it's current implementation troubles me when used in the context of a discussion board, because user x can ignore user y, while user y has no idea that when she responds to user x, she's wasting her time trying to engage in a discussion.

If the feature remains, however, I think that the way "Ignore" works should change: Either the "Ignored" are notified of who is ignoring them, or If x ignores y, then y automatically ignores x - also with notification, preferably; in other words, if you don't want to listen to me, you don't deserve my listening to you.

Grossly abusive or spamming posters should be taken care of by admin or mods.

My 10 dinars.

Reminds me of an old pain-reliever commercial: "Please, Mother, I'd rather do it myself!"

Probably before your time.

In case you (Mods) missed my comment elsewhere, I agree that mutual ignoring is a good plan. That way, the most obnoxious posters would eventually find themselves posting only to themselves & each other. Also, it'd make stalking much harder.
