I decided to post the whole thread. Part one

Reagan indifference-A late response to Marlo
July 20 2001 at 10:07 AM bluecoller (login Bluecoller)

Being an infrequent visitor to this site, I was browsing back
a few days, and looked into Reagan nicknames. There I find
someone named Marlo feeling sorry for this depraved piece of
shit. (Reagan)

Now, compassion is an admirable character trait, which indeed
is a large part of what distinguishes real Democrats from
Republicans, and other lower forms of life. (We all know
"compassionate conservative" is an oxymoron)
I think that one has to be one of the dwindling number of people, who
are old enough to recall the depression, to fully understand what a
complete asshole this degenerate SOB is (was).
I was born in Chicago, in Feb. of 1933, so I remember the
depression only as a child. However I have a very vivid memory
of eyes.

To explain-
We lived on Sheffield Av., just above Belmont, about a half of a
mile south of Wrigley field. Across the street was a small foundry,
surrounded by a high chain-link fence, with a truck gate just a
couple of feet from the sidewalk. This gate was kept locked except
to let trucks in and out.

From about age three (1936) to age seven (1940 when we moved),
there were always men leaning back against this fence, sometimes
one or two, sometimes four or five. Quiet, sullen men, not talking,
waiting, just waiting, waiting quietly on the very slim chance that
someone inside may get fired. It was different men, week by week,
month by month, year by year, but always the eyes were the same.
These were desperate men, men with very little hope of getting a
job, and the fear, the despair, the hopelessness, was in there eyes.
Even as a child those eyes left an indelible impression on my
memory. Of coarse it was many years before I understood what
those eyes were saying.

But that decadent, brain-dead, piece of shit Reagan lived the
depression years as an adult. He saw the same despair, the
same fear, the same eyes, and he was old enough to know what
it was all about. His family was working class. His boyhood
friends were working class.

After marrying the dragon lady, he accepted the vile republican
values (I got mine, screw you) of her family.
As President he allows (encourages) Paul Volcker to keep interest
rates high, putting a couple of million more out of work. Then the
depraved asshole opens a Sunday paper for a group of reporters
to show how many pages of want ads there were, implying of
course, that there were plenty of jobs to go around. He knew
better. He remembered the eyes. He just plain didn't give a shit.
Working people are hurt, so what," I got mine, screw you". He not
only turned his back on the working class, he shit on them.

As President, he declares "the homeless sleep on the street
because they want to".
As President, he suggested welfare should be left to the generosity
of private sector charity. But I recall one tax return of his that was
made public, he gave about 2% of his income to charity, but most
of this was some of the dragon lady's gown's donated to some
museum. So this asshole's personal concept of charity was to
give away his wife's dirty laundry for a fat tax write-off

one final point July 20 2001, 10:12 AM

Just in case, by now, you may think my opinion's just might be a
bit biased, I want to quote Tip O'Neill, from his book (man of the
house p-415)

"The most depressing thing of all was the hatred for the poor that
developed all across America. Almost over-night, there was a new
and widespread hostility on the part of haves toward the have-nots.
I had worked all my life to help create a middle class, and suddenly
that middle class was rebelling against the 10 or 15 percent of the
population that hadn't yet made it. The administration (Rancid
Ronald Reagan) had people believing that their fellow citizens
were getting something for nothing."Just as Hitler had taught a generation of Germans to hate Jews
so Rancid Ronald Reagan taught this generation of Americans
to hate the poor. Hitler and Reagan both fanned the flames of hate
for political gain.
The Roosevelt generation, successfully, waged war on poverty.
The Reagan generation, successfully, waged war on the poverty-
stricken. This after he had witnessed the despair of the depression
years.
The best acting job of his career was in real life, where he played
the part of a decent man, when in fact he never had a decent bone
in his body.
So, Marlo, I wish you wouldn't waste any more sympathy on this
degenerate piece of shit.
Ronald Reagan has an evil soul, a corrupt soul, a soul as rancid
as a winos puke puddled on a hot sunlit sidewalk. He fully deserves
to wallow in his own shit for at least another 10 years before he
goes to HELL.
See tayken, I never wished him dead. ;)

Reagan July 20 2001, 10:28 AM

I can't stand him either. Furthermore, Chimp is doing the
same thing. People are getting laid off all over the country
and what do the republicans do - let's tighten up on the
bankruptcy laws. Let's really put the screws to these people.
Let's let them lose their house and everything. Let's let em
live on the street. Everyday I read in our local press thousands
of job cuts from all sectors of the market. Many are middle
class managers and engineers. I know many people who
have college education (MBA or bachelors degree) and
cannot get a job. Companies are not hiring. They want to
keep their major stockholders in their boardrooms happy.
Whenever companies are not meeting their goals
(hard to do in a recession) they eliminate jobs. Easy way
to make your bottom line look better. Problem is that every
company is doing it and the more people that end up on the
unemployment line means less spending on goods and
services. So that creates more corporate downsizing.
It is a vicious cycle and the very wealthy don't care.
They are looking out for their millions of dollars, not the poor
schmucks who work for them.

Must second bluecollers sentiments concerning the vile
Ronnie Raygun. I suppose you must be older than 50 to
understand the truly despicable nature of the Repubs like
Reagan. If you are a product of a working class family and
you can embrace the evil Reagan philosophy, you are
indeed a brainwashed idiot. As is bluecollar, I can remember
the struggles of working people and how they were f---ed
over time and again by these assholes of industry. Having
grown up in the coalfields of Ky no one will ever be able to
spin the Reagan myth as being anything other than a sorry
individual. Once again I ask, if there is a heaven, how can
a repub make it there.

Regardless of the money and effort put forth by the Wall St media
and the ditto-heads, never will they convince anyone with a sense
of history that Reagan is anything other than a second rate leader.

Must agree July 20 2001, 11:57 AM

I always blame everything on Reagan--
it keeps my blood pressure down.
He was really evil--racist, elitest,etc.
and I think he was even worse than Nixon,
because he did all of his destruction with
a big smile on his face. All of these people
who think he was so wonderful are evil pukes themselves

Ronnie "Alzheimer" Reagan July 20 2001, 1:38 PM

I still vividly remember him, on TV, speaking to the nation live,
wagging his finger and saying: "I never had sex with those
terrorists with whom I didn't exchange stinger missiles for
hostages." It was a lie, of course, but about the finest hour
he ever had: he was still able to consciously waggle his
finger and know why he was doing so. What amazes are
the fools who insist they are moral, and yet insist that lying
about a private, non-illegal few hummers is worse than
the above instance of Reagan's treason against the US.
But Republican'ts only care about "getting ahead"; how
isn't relevant to them. If that means lying about being ethical
and moral, lying about lying, screwing one's own country,
so be it. Those people will poison their own children's
drinking water for profit
