You said this job doesn't get you any respect and just causes you trouble - I have a simple solution - stop being a moderator! You aren't doing anyone any favors by being one. Infact you are causing Lib a lot of problems, along with alienating a lot of posters and creating a huge division here. Please just let go of your powers and become a normal poster again, for the sake of this board.

I'm guessing Islander is trying to get banned. If a liberal does it, then he will state the moderator was doing their job. If a conservative does it then he will say it was unfair. It is an irrefutable fact that you could be easily replaced by another moderator, or not replaced at all, and it wouldn't make a difference in that regard. In another regard, around a dozen regular posters would start contributing here again, and the air of gloominess, increasing hostility and extremism, and moderator abuse would vanish.

If you really cared about making this place better (or on a more serious note, saving it from the garbage heap), you would relinquish your powers.
