The idiotic practice of immediately referring to anyone as an anti-semite because they criticize Israel, as disingenuous as that is, has been a very succesful tool with which to shut up or prevent ANY possible criticizm of Israel to the point that it has reached the level of absurdity and the very accusation rather than negative now seems to have taken on an air of respectablility. Of course the danger there is that there really ARE anti-semites who would burn synagogues and destroy Jewish gravesides, paint Swastikas, celebrate Hitler's birthday and are sorry Hitler wasn't more successful. . We need to find another word for them.

The world knows what Israel has been doing over the past 50 years. Only Americans do not know. Or pretend not to know. I cannot believe there are THAT many stupid people. It seems like a pretty poor endictment of Americans.

If the Amrican world is upside down and those who object to illegal invasions, war crimes and crimes against humanity are suddenly equated with anti-semites and Nazi's that would suggest to what extend they are either
a) unfamiliar with Nazi atrocities
b) unfamilar with what the term anti-semite truly represents.
c) out of touch with reality as to what has transpired in the M.E. in the past 50 years.
d) Following the Israeli PR line that does not recognize any illegal invasion or oppression of any people in the M.E. despite 65 U.N. Resolutions condemning their atrocities.

They deny these realities at their own peril. They are playing a very dangerous game.

I would suggest that checking with the Jerusalem Post will not provide an objective picture.

I don't think that Lib defends Israel to that level. I'll say this, I have posted several times in the recent weeks that I personally believe Israel's formation as a state was a raw power play that had no basis in law. But, you might could say that about many countries in this day and age. The US was formed out of raw power. I will criticize Israel all day long and every day until they move back to the 1967 borders. This current conflict clearly (say that three times) has roots in the long history of the region and as far as I am concerned, Israel is on it's own here. I do not want my tax dollars to support Zionism. It is not my problem. It has nothing to do with my religion. You know that I have stated that I am a Christian and one thing that I will say is that Christ didn't ask me to kill anyone so that Israel can exist in the ME. And if he had, then I wouldn't be a Christian. Being a Christian is believing in the Sermon on the Mount and there are no peacemakers in the government of Israel. Or at least none with real power to change the course of history.

Israel reap what it sows. I do not want the destiny of the United States to be intertwined with Zionism. And the longer it goes, the more upset I become.

Yes it clears it up insofar that you don't see Israel's original creation as legitimate and do not care to have our tax monies to go there. My personal "programming" still has a problem with the former (I'm getting there though) but I am very much with you on the latter. But I hear NO condemnation for any Israeli aggression of the past 50 years which is the root cause of the resistance Israel has been subjected to but sees (twists) as random terrorist attacks. There are 65 U,N. Rsolutions condemning Israel for its aggression going back to 1967. We cannot wish things away unless we are willing to analyze it and engage in some critical thinking here and hold aggressors accountible for their actions. Not only does Israel have to go back to the 1967 borders but it needs to recognize its atrocities against is neighbors and make restitution for all the suffering it has caused. Unless that happens there won't be any healing in the region.
Right now it is ISRAEL which has to recognize the Palestinians as having a right to EXIST and have their own land. Israel has never done that.
The world needs to recognize the suffering of the Palestinians. They need that recognision
