Let's see, if the 46 Muslim states in the world cease to exist will Muslims too? Of course the subtext of the original question is really should there be a Jewish state because of course there would still be Jews without one. But what about all these other often religiously defined states? Shouldn't that raise a red flag too? Maybe they should be thoroughly integrated and no religious ethnic preferences should exist there either. Or maybe they don't have any of these preferential problems. When one has Muslim states which are 100% Muslim I think one can make a less than wild guess that maybe a little preferential treatment was involved.

While I am increasingly aware of the problem of the West's interfering---even with seemingly simple humanitarian aid---in the affairs of other nations, I am loathe to concede that America should cut off aid to Arab Muslim states if it cuts off aid to a Jewish Israel.

Why?

Because, aside from their American-backed, fitlhy-rich leaders, the great masses of Arabs are impoverished to the point where, among other things, they have the highest infant mortality rate in the world!

To cut off aid to them to "be fair" to an Israel that is already the most technologically-advanced state in the region is to ignore the class aspects of the conflict.

At best, the West should probably pull out altogether.

But a truly critical thinker should be able to see the shades of grey that exist and be able to admit that what Arab Muslims really need to lessen the grip of religious fundamentalism and violence is for the West to apply the Middle Eastern equivalent of the Marshall Plan.
