but it might be fun reading anyway...

Not in any particular order...
Fair and Balanced...Reasonably principled, but hard-headed. Has some blind-spots that could use some work
Bluecoller Eddie...Makes me glad we’re not dealing with “sound” instead of simply script. He’d be shouting in our ears constantly, and most of it R-rated. Behind the bluster, the man is thinking, but it’s frequently hidden by the self-same bluster.
kentay...You’re either for him or against him. If you’re against him, he’s got a whole litany of names to call you...Main feature: Lots of paste-ups, and a penchant for excessive repetition.
Jay (Pres.) Esbe...See Fair and Balanced above, but Jay has the added feature of “shooting from the hip” a little too quickly. No one will ever accuse him of not having solid opinions.
Jack the Reaper...Thinks the board “belongs” to liberals, and seems more than mildly offended to have to share “air-time” with anyone else. Quick to throw insults...even quicker to imply that anyone not agreeing with him is an “expletive deleted”, and doesn’t belong on “our” (read: liberal) board.
PatRiot...lots of verbal skills. Parses opposition posts and tries to attack each sentence. Boring, generally, particularly when trying snide little “attack” techniques.
Mykel...Measures virtually everything against how he thinks it should play in the gay community. One-trick pony in that regard. His posting could be interesting if that “asset” was dropped.
Sam Ayyam...Fun reading most of his material. He thinks a lot about most of his opinions. He thinks a lot of them, as well...
Gerry...Startles me continually. Seems well-educated and well-spoken, but then displays almost a contempt for obvious facts, when she denies them. Almost like two different posters using the same name...
Lib...Well-spoken, and clearly well-educated...generally above personal attacks on other posters, thus it’s striking when he does so. Historical perspective on the successes and failures of socialism world-wide is the most glaring omission in an otherwise pretty solid academic base.
Maria...Seems a nice person, but political opinions seem more tailored to a high-school debate class. (sorry Maria, I calls ‘em like I sees ‘em)
M_Theory...Generally pretty principled opinions (I didn’t say correct) A discussion can be carried on without fear of it degenerating into name-calling (there are some notable exceptions extant)
Bertrand...I enjoy reading most of his material...nuff said.
boo2...Not enough information to form any kind of an opinion..
If you’ve been left out, don’t feel bad. You probably weren’t selected when everyone lined up and the captains chose their teams...just kidding...it’s a “work in progress..”

PPS Actually, after thinking about it for awhile, this belongs in "Off Topic", so I'm gonna give it a few minutes then shift it over...

I certainly wouldn't want kentay yelling at me... :D

Damn...forgot mickster...
I'll do him right now...(don't get excited mykel...that isn't what I meant)

Mickster.... Pretty darn good poster, overall. If we could just "enlist" him to the correct side, he'd be an asset.

Does this mean you think, i don't have enough information to form an opinion, or you don't have enough info on me to have an opinion of me?? I was hoping to be more hated than that! :p :p :p

Mike,

Oh, now NICE to be included for once in a right wingers little list of Liberals We Love to Hate.

I've been tryin' to make one o' Michael Feinberg's lists for almost 3 years now, to no avail.

As for my All Gay All the Time routine, would you make the same complaint about an African-American writer's ongoing critique of racism in America? Or a feminist's posts about women's rights on a global scale?

If not, then why is it OK that much of what we debate here is, frankly, the movers and shakers of the straight white Judeo-Christian male community?

I mean, even John Kerry is one of y'all.

HMPH!

See Mel Brook's Blazing Saddles. "I didn't get a Harumph out of that guy." (Shock) Harumph!

Just a little comment on the (demanded) herd mentalilty. (Forgive me for using a word Nietzsche used.)

MykelI don't hate you at all, mykel. As I noted, you'd have interesting posts even without the obsessive "filter" in use...in fact even more so...

The thought has occurred to me that -- in fact -- the aforementioned "filter" might even be an indication that you're not too comfortable with your own sexuality. Isn't that the frequently discussed "knock" on straights -- that their overt hatred of gays is an indication that they, themselves, harbor sexual identity insecurity???

I don't hate straights.

It's GREAT to be STRAIGHT!

It's homophobia that I hate, ie, denying gays the right to marry, thinking we're unfit parents, not wanting to hire or promote us, wanting to evict us, teaching your children that we're evil or dangerous and encouraging them to harrass and abuse gay children, thinking we dress funny, talk funny, act funny, telling us not to talk about being gay, becoming disgusted if presented with a gay couple engaged in non-sexual intimacy in the media or in public, etc, etc, etc.

I'm just sayin' that YOU think I talk about being gay too much, but I think YOU talk about being straight just as much as, if not more than, I talk about being gay .

You just don't think you do, because you're blinded by your own bias.

Mykelau contrare, Mykel. I don't talk about being "straight" at all...no, never...(unless you want to classify this conversation (or similar ones) with YOU as such talk... :D

I'm not a homophobe, Mykel. I'm comfortable in my own skin...I don't feel "threatened" by gays in any way. If I had an offspring who was gay, I might grieve a little -- but not for the orientation, for the fact that he or she would have a tougher "row-to-hoe" in life because of discrimination.

I'm a lot older than you are, Mykel. In point of fact, I'm probably old enough to be your father. When I was your age, I probably found it difficult to take any advice whatever, but my advice to you is to relax a bit, and try to look for the best in people, rather than carrying that ten ton chip around...it gets too heavy as you get older...

these things happen in SF? In Van I haven't heard of these things happening very often, but I know that every job I have worked at has had a handful of openly gay people, and they definately enhance the workplace, they tend to have alot more pizzaz (sp) than us straight guys..
